election research november 2003 election update

Herndon, VA - Election Research was involved in over 50 races where candidates were running for election or re-election in November 2003. “70% of all the candidates we worked for won,” said Election Research President Gabriel S Joseph. “In addition, all of our candidates won that could afford the time and money to use our system and proprietary database for district wide voter identification and targeted Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) based on the survey results, as well as district-wide broadcast GOTV. This election again shows the value of using databases beyond that which are provided by the state voter files. Finding those NEW voters and supporters and turning them out to vote, work or contribute to the campaign made a difference in several elections we were involved with,” Joseph stated.

Races where Election Research employed its Interactive Voice Response – Speech Recognition (IVRSR) technology of identifying voters included:

  • Senator Ken Cuccinelli won re-election to the Virginia State Senate
  • Delegate Tom Rust won re-election to the Virginia General Assembly
  • Bruce Tulloch and Steve Snow – Loudoun County Virginia Board of Supervisors victors. Combined, these candidates lost only 2 precincts
  • Delegate Glen Weatherholtz won re-election in his central Virginia District
  • In Mississippi, Noel Akins and Clint Rotenberry won State House seats while Eugene Clark and Richard White won State Senate elections

“We were called into several races late, which did not allow us to execute our entire program for many candidates,” Joseph said. One such instance was Dr. Alvin Bryant’s race for State Delegate in Virginia House 92. “Dr. Bryant received 45.54% of the vote in a district where a Republican has never gotten higher than 32% before. I believe with a little more time we could have helped Dr. Bryant make up that difference and more, even overcoming three visits from the Democrat Governor to the District, including one on Election Day ” Joseph stated

“It was another good day for the vast majority of our clients and Election Research was there to serve. In addition, we are already working for several Congressional, US Senate and state level candidates who are performing constituent surveys in their voices to line up contributors, volunteers, voters and events. Bottom line is that our clients win and we look to perpetuate and continue this trend into next year and beyond,” Joseph concluded.
